The HOBS is a revolutionary new product that
allows you to reclaim the floor space in your garage
that your bicycles take up. The HOBS is a
counterbalanced device that is easier to use than a
pull-down attic stair. It will store your bicycle,
flat on the ceiling, giving you that extra space for
your automobile or other valued items.
HOBS is Easy to Use
Simply roll your bicycle up to the HOBS and place it
on the pegs – NO LIFTING IS NECESSARY.
Squeeze the release latch on the handle and slide
the bicycle up the boom with ease.
Push the boom to start it on its way, and the
counterbalance spring does the rest.
With an 8’4” ceiling, there is 6’10” of headroom under
the HOBS with a stored bicycle on it, enough room to park
most vehicles that will fit in a garage.
How it Works
The HOBS uses two hi-tech springs to lift the weight of the
bicycle for you.
Inside the boom is one of these springs. It is linked
with a cable & pulley system that pulls on the lifting pegs
with approximately the same force that is required to lift a
bicycle. This makes it easy to raise or lower your bike.
The other spring pulls the boom up to the ceiling as the
boom rotates about the pivot pin. This spring goes into an
over-center lock position when the boom is in the down
position so that you don’t have to worry about the bike
lifting before you are ready.
